The Heat & Glo: Escape-35, from the Gas Inserts wall at Fallon's Home & Hearth From the Gas Inserts Wall

Why a Gas Insert

Seal the Draft, Keep the Fireplace, Add the Heat

If you have an open masonry fireplace, you have a hole in the house. A gas insert slides into that opening, seals it with a glass front, and runs two liners up the existing chimney—one in, one out. What you get back is a fireplace that heats the room with the flip of a switch and keeps going when the power is out.

The Heat & Glo inserts we install come in traditional log-set and clean-face styles, with surrounds sized to cover the opening so the result looks built in. The project is usually a single day. We coordinate the gas line, run the liner, fit the surround, and light it before we leave.

Get an instant installed estimate on the insert you like, then we'll measure the firebox and the flue at a free in-home visit and confirm the number on the spot.

What You Get

Why Customers Choose Gas Inserts

Ignition That Works Without Power

Standing-pilot and battery-backed ignition keep the fire lit through an outage.

Heat, Not a Draft

An open fireplace pulls warm air out of the house; a sealed insert keeps it in and adds its own.

Installation in a Day

Liners up the existing chimney, surround over the opening, fire lit—usually before dinner.

Surrounds Sized to Your Firebox

Surrounds and fronts sized to your firebox, in finishes that match the room.

From a Gas Fireplace Owner

"Appreciate the help getting me setup with my Mezzo 60! I'm happy with the heat output and how it looks in my basement."

Straight Answers

Common Questions About Gas Inserts

Plain answers from the showroom, and the estimate on every unit above.

Get Instant Estimate
Will a gas insert fit my fireplace?
Most masonry fireboxes take one; we measure the opening and check the flue at the free in-home visit. Prefab (metal) fireplaces take specific inserts, and we'll tell you which.
Do I need to run a new gas line?
If the house has gas or propane, the line usually extends to the fireplace. We coordinate with your gas supplier so the line is ready when the insert goes in.
Can I still burn wood?
Not once the insert is in—the liners and the sealed front replace the open firebox. If you want to keep burning wood, look at our wood inserts instead.
How much heat does a gas insert make?
Enough to carry the main living area of most Seacoast homes on its own; the fan pushes the heat into the room. We size it to the space at the in-home visit.
