Why a Wood Insert

Your Open Fireplace, Re-Made as a Wood Stove

A wood insert is a wood stove built to slide into a masonry fireplace. It closes the open firebox behind glass, lines the chimney, and turns a fireplace that loses heat into one that produces it—on cord wood, with no electricity, through any outage the Seacoast throws at it.

We carry Vermont Castings and Quadra-Fire for the classic and the practical, and Stûv for the modern wide-glass look. The insert uses your chimney with a new stainless liner, the surround covers the opening, and the blower moves the heat into the room.

Get an instant installed estimate on the insert you like. We'll measure the firebox and inspect the chimney at a free in-home visit before anything is ordered.

From a Wood Insert Install

"We used Fallon's twice this year, once to install a pellet stove and most recently a wood-burning insert. We are so happy with the product and the service was great. Thanks to Harry for helping us pick the right stoves & to Josh and Matt for the install!"

Common Questions About Wood Inserts

Plain answers from the showroom, and the estimate on every unit above.

Get Instant Estimate
Will a wood insert fit my fireplace?
It depends on the firebox depth and height and on the chimney. We measure both at the free in-home visit; most masonry fireplaces take one of the inserts we carry.
Does the chimney need a liner?
Yes. A stainless liner runs from the insert to the top of the chimney so the stove drafts properly and the chimney stays clean. It's part of every installation we do.
How long will it burn?
Loaded at night, the inserts we sell hold a fire through the night and leave coals for the morning. Actual burn time depends on the wood and the setting.
Do you service wood inserts?
Yes—annual cleaning of the liner and the firebox, gasket and blower checks, and repairs on the units we sell.
